For some time I had been wanting to go to Caddo Lake, which is in the far northeast corner of Texas bordering Louisiana. I figured there would be a lot of plants that are not found elsewhere in the state, especially in the parts I had frequented before. That turned out to be very true as I found 16 species that I hadn’t seen before, along with many familiar ones.
Returning to Austin, I stopped for the night at Huntsville State Park north of Houston and found a few flowers, including one new one for this site.
Check back over the next few weeks to see the updates to the page with more new species.
