The wildflowers in Central Texas were astounding this year. The banner photo at the top of this page is just one indication of the massive displays of flowers found throughout the area.
Because of other commitments, we weren’t able to do much shooting in the area, but there was time for some around Austin, at Lockhart State Park, southeast of Austin, and at Fort Parker State Park, east of Waco. (I know, it’s a bit of a stretch to include that area in Central Texas, but it’s close.) And we found 9 new species for the collection.
