Description Habitat: Dry, rocky limestone soils.
Plant: Short erect or sprawling annual, 3 to 8 inches tall, one to several branches; upper stem with fine hairs.
Leaves: Small stem leaves, opposite, ovate to elliptic, 1/4 to 1-inch long with short petiole; smooth leaf surfaces; edges somewhat serrate.
Inflorescence: Small pink tubular flowers in crowded spikes along stem, each about 1/2-across or less; two-lipped corollas, upper lip two-lobed; lower lip with 3 lobes.
Bloom Period: April and May.
