Description Habitat: Shallow soils on rock or in crevices; open areas in pastures and meadows.
Plant: Upright, low succulent annual, branched from base, 2 to 4 inches tall; usually found in large colonies that appear as mats.
Leaves: Thick alternate, sessile, linear leaves 1/4 to 1/2-inch long, with smooth edges.
Inflorescence: Small cymes of yellow flowers about 1/4-inch across, with 5 narrow, pointed petals.
Bloom Period: April to July.
