Description Habitat: Sunny, dry desert environment, sandy or gravelly locations in Big Bend area.
Plant: Mat-forming perennial up to several inches tall; hairy, branching stems, prostrate stems woody and whitish toward the base, reddish above.
Leaves: Clusters of small, narrow, elliptic or ovate leaves with pointed bases and tips; about 3/8-inch long and 1/4-inch wide; surfaces very hairy.
Inflorescence: Pink to magenta funnel-shaped flowers with 5 rounded, spreading lobes; from leaf axils; about 1/4-inch across.
Blooming Period: March to June.
