Description Habitat: Limestone soils in dry, open desert scrub and rocky slopes.
Plant: Rounded shrub usually about 1 ft tall, but may be taller, much-branched and compact.
Leaves: Many hairy ovate to elliptic leaves, 1/3 inch long or less and and 1/4-inch wide or less.
Inflorescence: Small magenta or pink funnel-shaped flowers in a cluster about 3/4-inch across surrounded by feathery, woolly calyx hairs; each blossom with 5 petals and about than 1/4-inch across.
Blooming Period: May to September and after rains.
