Description Habitat: Widely distributed in various soils and habitats.
Plant: Tall, upright perennial to 7 feet tall, numerous stems, branched in flowering portion.
Leaves: Numerous, dull green, hairy leaves crowded along the stems, oblanceolate 3-3/4 to 6 inches long, with toothed edges.
Inflorescence: Many (100 to 1200 or more) composite flower heads in large loose panicular clusters, each blossom 1/4-inch across with 8-13 rays and 3 to 6 disk flowers; blossoms along on one side of the branches.
Bloom Period: August to November.
