Description Habitat: Sandy soils in open areas in desert scrub, canyon bottoms, and plains; below 6,000 ft.
Plant: Erect biennial or perennial4 to 24 inches tall, one to a few stems branching above, with longitudinal striations and covered with long hairs.
Leaves: Blades ovate or rounded-deltate to elliptic in outline, 1 to 4-3/4 inches long and 3/4 to 1-1/2 inches wide, pinnately or sub-bipinnately lobed to lyrate, with erect hairs and dotted with glands.
Inflorescence: Open panicles of numerouscomposite white flower heads, each 3/16-inch across; each head with 20 to 30 disk florets and 5 small pistillate florets around the outer edge..
Bloom Period: March to October.
