Description Habitat: Various soils; on the edges of thickets, in open woods and weedy areas.
Plant: Annual with a few erect, ascending or decumbent stems up to 16 inches long; hairy, leafy and loosely branched.
Leaves: Leaf blades are covered with stiff, bristly hairs; basal leaves oblanceolate up to 3-1/2 inches long and 3/4-inch wide; stem leaves are smaller and elliptic to elliptic-oblanceolate.
Inflorescence: Small flowers borne in the axils of leaf-like bracts, corollas with 5 white lobes and yellow center, overall about 1/2-inch across,
Bloom Period: February to May.
