Description Habitat: Shallow water or low wet areas, marshes, stream banks.
Plant: Erect perennial 2 to 3 feet high.
Leaves: Sword-shaped, linear bright green leaves.
Inflorescence: Reddish-brown flowers with 3 petals and 3 arching sepals (of the same color as the petals) and 3 stamens.
Bloom Period: April to June.
