Description Habitat: Dry, sandy, rocky soil in open areas, prairies, brush, hillsides.
Plant: Upright/sprawling grayish bushy perennial up to 16 inches tall; many stems branched in upper portions.
Leaves: Numerous hairy leaves crowded on plant stems, oblanceolate to linear, 3/4 to 1-1/4 inches long.
Inflorescence: Composite flower heads up to 1 inch across, solitary or a few in corymbs, curling up at night, 10-22 yellow rays and 22-40 yellow disk florets in the center.
Bloom Period: June to November.
