Description Habitat: Dry, rocky caliche soils.
Plant: Upright, bushy annual 1 to 3 feet tall, with many green to reddish-purple, slender, ascending and spreading branches.
Leaves: Opposite, short (3/4 to 1-1/4 inches long), very thin linear, spreading leaves; light green often with a reddish-purple tinge.
Inflorescence: Racemes of 2 to 9 pink flowers, each 1 inch or less across with 5 lobes (petals) on long pedicels up to 1-1/4 inches long.
Bloom Period: September to November.
