Description Habitat: Somewhat moist soils in fields, pastures and disturbed areas.
Plant: Spreading annual with stem extremities curving upward; trailing or sometimes mat forming; branches up to 1 ft. long; stems and leaves covered with soft hairs.
Leaves: Alternate,pinnately ternate leaves, the three leaflets oval to obovate, 3/8-inch long or less, edges smooth or somewhat serrate.
Inflorescence: Flower heads with 3 to 5 tiny bright yellow pea-like blossoms, 1/8 to 1/4 inch across.
Bloom Period: Spring
Fruit: Spiny, bur-like with hooked bristles or prickles; less than 1/2 inch diameter.
