Description |
Habitat: Creek and river bottoms, waste places, weedy areas, and woodland borders. Plant: Erect, smooth biennial 1-1/2 to 8 feet tall, branchings stems with purple-red spots. Leaves: Broad, three-times pinnately-divided leaves 3 to 12 inches long; ultimate lobes pinnately-incised. Inflorescence: Compound umble 2 to 6 inches across with 8 to 16 umbellets; each umbellet with 12 to 25 small white flowers, each about 1/8-inch across with 5 petals and 5 protruding white stamens.
