Description Habitat: Different soil types in open, disturbed areas, fields, meadows, grasslands, and roadsides.
Plant: Erect annual, simple or branched, hairy stems up to 28 inches tall.
Leaves: Stem leaves alternate, lanceolate or linear with pointed tips, up to 1-1/2 inches long and 1/4-inch wide; covered with pubescent hairs; margins ciliate.
Inflorescence: Small white funnel-shaped flowers about 1/4-inch across arising from leaf axils and at stem tips; 5 pointed lobes; subtended by long, pointed sepals.
Bloom Period: March to June.
