| Description | Habitat: Moist soils in drainage areas; widely distributed. Plant: Erect annual up to 3 feet tall, aromatic. Leaves: Alternate, ovate to lanceolate leaves, 1-1/2 to 6 inches long, smooth to slightly hairy surfaces, edges serrate to nearly smooth; strong, pungent odor when crushed. Inflorescence: Purplish-pink, in flat-topped or rounded arrays; ray florets absent; 6 to 19 pink or rosy disk florets. Blooming Period: May to September.
