| Description |
Habitat: Sandy, gravelly and calcareous soils in open woodlands and disturbed areas. Plant: Short, smooth perennial, mostly erect, 6 to 12 inches tall. Leaves: Basal leaves on petioles 2 to 6 inches long with 3 V-shaped leaflets each about 1 inch long, 1-3/4 inch wide. Inflorescence: Cymes with 4 to 8 flowers on pedicels 3/8 to 1-3/4 inches long; each flower 3/4 inch diameter with 5 bright pink petals with white-to-yellow/green centers; 5 sepals; 10 stamens with filaments united at the base, of unequal length, with 5 longer than the rest.
