Big Bend Spring 2015

Below are photographs some of the plants captured in Big Bend in April, 2015.

The conditions in Big Bend National Park and the adjacent Big Bend Ranch State Park are phenomenal for wildflowers this spring. Rains last fall and earlier this year have been suffient to bring out seldom-seen species. Bluebonnets and other species proliferate along the roadsides throughout the parks.

Displayed on this page are samples of the bounty. Thirty-three new species have been added to this site for a total of 280 so far.

There are a couple unknown species at the bottom of the page. If you have an idea about them, please let me know. Thank you!
