Description Habitat: Rocky slopes, open areas.
Plant: Loose, sprawling perennial with stems 6 to 12 inches long.
Leaves: Alternate, linear stem leaves 1/4 to 3/8-inch long, dotted with glands.
Inflorescence: Small yellow urn-shaped flowers along stems, about 1/4-inch across; 4 petals and sepals.
Fruit: Two-lobed fruit capsule resembling pantaloons provides the common name.
