Description Habitat: Well-drained, moist areas.
Plant: Perennial shrub usually up to 3 feet tall.
Leaves: Simple and alternate, elliptic to lanceolate with smooth edges.
Inflorescence: Small white bell-shaped flowers about 1-inch diameter, 5 lobes and 5 bluish stamens.
Fruit: Small red pepper berries, ellipsoidal about 1/3-inch diameter.
