Description Habitat: Dry, sandy, gravelly areas along roadsides and open woodlands..
Plant: Prostrate, trailing perennial, thin, hairy stems 1 to 6 feet long.
Leaves: Compound leaves palmately-divided into 3 ovate to elliptic leaflets 1/2 to 1 inch long, somewhat hairy with smooth edges.
Inflorescence: Racemes of 8 to 12 small pink pea-like 5-petal flowers 1/2 inch long, erect upper banner.
Bloom Period: July to September.
